Services & Programs

Although specific services may vary somewhat from one Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) to another, a core of comprehensive services are generally available throughout the system. 

CHILDREN'S SERVICES is an outreach program designed specifically for children, adolescents, and families who need intensive services and coordination of services provided by a variety of professionals:

  • In-home individual or family therapy, education and support

  • Out-of-home therapy in the child's school or other community location

  • Group therapy

  • Case management including coordination with other service providers

  • Psychiatric assessments and medication, if necessary

  • 24-hour emergency services

PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING SERVICES provide outpatient counseling and related services to the general public, as well as specific assistance for the business, legal and medical communities:

  • Individual, group and family counseling for children, teenagers, adults and couples

  • Educational workshops

  • Children, family, and adult support services

  • Employee assistance programs (EAP)

  • Management and staff training

  • Psychological testing

  • 24-hour emergency services

COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES assist adults with major mental illnesses:

  • Evaluation and referral

  • Case management

  • Day programs

  • Vocational support and training

  • Education and therapy groups

  • 24-hour emergency services
