There are eleven (11) Community Mental Health Centers (CMHCs) in South Dakota dedicated to providing the citizens of this state with top quality, professional services to keep our individuals, families, schools, workplaces and communities emotionally strong and healthy.

Our Mission Statement

The mission of the South Dakota Council of Mental Health Centers, Inc. is:

  1. To promote and assure the provision of appropriate mental health and behavioral health care to the citizens of South Dakota.

  2. To promote the integration of services among the supported organizations throughout South Dakota by providing administrative services, quality assurance, education and coordination

  3. To contract with the State of South Dakota and other purchasers of mental and behavioral health services on behalf of the supported organizations as providers of such services.
